Front Parlor

Our second major project was to tackle the front parlor. The first story lost most of its personality during hurricane Katrina. The down stairs front rooms were all painted in a very list sea mist green. The floors were carpeted in a light blue. We replaced the floors before we moved in.

The before…

Inspiration for the room came from the vintage engraving over the sofa: “Crossing the Highland Loch” by Jacob Thompson (1858) and the Duncan Phyfe sofa itself.

The paint renovation began with the ceiling which we painted in Positive Red (SW-6871) by Sherwin Williams. The walls are Ambler Slate (CW-685) from Benjamin Moore’s Colonial Williamsburg collection.
